We believe the best way to get people together is to organise enjoyable events catering to a variety of tastes - so that's what we do!
We are a volunteer organisation with a number of dedicated individuals kindly donating their personal time without remuneration to organise, manage and run events. We try and keep ticket prices to our events as low as possible through donations of food and beverage and specific event sponsorship. At the end of each year any surplus funds and money directly raised from auctions and raffles which are held at events is then donated to charity. Please register here if you would like to get involved with the Society and help out with event organisation.
Our premier event is the annual Australia Day Gala Ball which is held in January. In 2011 we held the ball at the ANA InterContinental in Ark Hills. With over 450 people in attendance, we raised over 4 million yen for charity.
Our other major functions include the annual Australian BBQ which will be held on 1 October 2011 at the superb facilities of the Australian Embassy Garden. Last year’s event in 2010 was a night to remember with live music, Australian meat and sausages, beer and wine and over 400 people in attendance. You also don’t want to miss the Melbourne Cup Luncheon, our own version of a day at the races which will be held this year on 1 November 2011 at the Grand Hyatt, Roppongi Hills.
Throughout the year we also organise wine tastings, sausage sizzles, children's parties, regular coffee mornings and a variety of other events. Please view our Events page for more information.
New members are always welcome and membership has its benefits – including priority notification and discounted admission to events. Our events are often sold event so why not become a member and get the information first. For further information on how to become a member please take a look at our Membership page.
