Born in Yokohama, raised in Sydney Australia, MASAKI began his violin studies from his father, Yasuki Nakamura (Honorary President International Suzuki Association Australian) and later from Harold Brissenden through the Suzuki Method.
After performing as a support musician for various artists such as the Dixie Chicks, Delta Goodrem, and the likes, he began his solo career in Japan. With his unique understanding of both Japanese and Australian cultures, he began creating music with simple melody line that contained underlining stories and experiences from living in both worlds. His compositions have been described as “sublime melodies”, “The sensuality of expression through the violin” by various producers and music critics in Japan.
He has continually been invited back to Japan, performing across the country, collaborating with other artists and also creating soundtrack music for events and television. This year, to commemorate the release of his 5th album, “Oshibana&Kabutomushi” he will be performing at the prestigious Ohji Hall in Ginza. The concert will be backed with piano, cello, shinobue (Japanese bamboo flute) and percussion (frame drum) that will create an exquisite blend of Japanese and European acoustic sounds.
