Australian-style Hanami Picnic

Pundits are predicting an early cherry blossom season this year, but we're being contrary and planning our hanami for the first weekend in April - will we be too late? It doesn't matter! Under what remains of the cherry blossoms, we'll camp out for the afternoon and enjoy a friendly picnic.

Bring friends, the kids, the dog, and don't forget a picnic lunch. A blue tarp and some wine or sake will set the proper hanami spirit.

Komazawa Olympic Park has excellent bike trails (it was the venue for the 1964 Olympic cycling events), so bring your bikes if you fancy a ride.

The park is a 15 minute walk from Komazawa Daigaku station on the Den-en-toshi line. We'll update the calendar with a specific picnic spot a few days before the event, so please check back.
