Did you know that there exist stores called ‘Pokemon Center’ in Japan?  The editor, who is Japanese and has lived in Tokyo since birth, just happened to know them on the internet this summer!

Pokemon Centers are official retail stores selling Pokemon merchandise, card games, stuffed toys, and snacks, etc.  They are like paradise for kids, Pokemon fans, and foreign travelers too.  TripAdvisor.com, travel guideDSCF3595.JPG and research site, did a survey on popular places in Japan for foreign travelers in 2008, and interestingly Pokemon Center was number 3, even ranked higher than Sensouji in Asakusa and the Golden pavilion in Kyoto.  They are not just in Tokyo, and they also have the stores in Sapporo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, and New York.

If your kids (or even you yourself!) love pokemon, of if you are going to buy a Pokemon toy as Christmas gift, it would be worth visiting once!  Please see the websites below for more store information.
